I just recently learned about VBS through my mom in law.
It's Vacation Bible School, and it's a big deal in the summertime.
It's like a Summer Camp through church.
Apparently you can check out all your local churches and find out what week they are having their VBS.
It's a week long and typically goes from like 9am-12pm.
They each have their own theme they play by for the week and they just jam pack the days with crafts, bible stories, games, songs, snacks, and fun!
I was just talking to one of my friends the other day and she said,
"You need to get on this VBS thing. It's amazing."
I told her that I just recently found out about it and that most of them are already almost done.
She said,
"Riley's on his third one! We've been church hopping all over!"
I was laughing at that phrase, but it's such a good idea.
A lot of the Vacation Bible Schools are free and if they cost, typically they are pretty affordable.
I just registered my kids for one for the week of July 26-30 and the hours are 9-1.
Their theme for the week is THE EGYPT FILE: Adventure! Intrigue! Mystery!
It's a little bit of a drive (like 20 minutes) but I figure it's worth it for them to have some activities to do, some peers to play with, and they get to learn about God all the while.
Win Win Situation!
I'm so excited to see how it goes down.
So check out your local churches and see what they have to offer for your kids.
Fun, affordable, and sometimes... even free!
