5 Finalists for 2011 Green Car Vision Award

The Washington Auto Show is coveted for completely focusing on its policy. Moreover, the Washington Auto Show is the site of annual Green Car Vision Awards held by Green Car Journal. Today, the finalists of 2011 Washington Auto Show have been finally listed. The finalists who are announced for this show are:
•    Ford Focus Electric
•    Honda Fit EV
•    Toyota RAV4 EV
•    Mitsubishi i electric vehicle
•    Volvo C30 DRIVe
Out of these five battery electric contenders, only one will be named as Green Car Journal’s 2011 Green Car Vision Award winner. This award will be presented during the second Policy Day of the show, which is on Thursday, 27th January 2011 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
One thing that has to be noted is that all these five finalists belong to a pure electric vehicle group. In this 2011 Washington Auto Show, a major fact is about to clear that these days, electric drive signifies the technology of choice, which has become the future of advanced technology vehicle programs for many automakers.
This list is an excellent symbol that indicates where the auto industry is today and where it will be in future. The Focus BEV has got second recognition on the finalists list, whereas, EVs was already present on the list. In the year 2009, Mitsubishi i was represented earlier by i-MiEV, but they have always worked as fuel cell or vehicles with a partial gas powertrain i.e., the Chevy Volt.
If you want to see all the finalists of 2009 and 2010 then you can check the Volt Won and the Nissan Leaf Won respectively.
This year’s five battery electric finalists symbolize a powerful and emerging trend toward electrification. This concept has grown with the automakers from United States, Europe and Asia. It is planned to match the magazine’s Green Car of the Year program and as per the design, it will focus on the production of vehicles featuring environmental performance as well as easy accessibility to the consumers.
