This is the first one I made. It's ready for application. I placed it up against the roadster for a size test. Should be about right. Maybe the main letters need to be bigger.

Graphics Test

I was playing with the vinyl cutting sheet and in a couple of hours I came out with this.
I am really just testing my application techniques at the moment. I think the prelude will look good.

Next step is an A4 size TGRacing logo test.

Lighten the Lude!

After Tom ended up straining his manly biceps lifting up the hood, we decided we needed to explore getting a carbon or FRP hood/bonnet. Which I did - again courtesy of Yahoo Auctions. Nice thing is, it's even the exact same color as our car!

Price-wise, less than half of buying a new piece (which would have to be painted).

More importantly - it's vented, which should help keep temperatures nice and cool (both oil and coolant) throughout the race. Although we ARE ordering a racing radiator, and are thinking about eventually getting an oil cooler as well.

Today, I did some more photoshops of the sample graphic design for the Prelude.

I also tried some samples of cutting sheet and fitted them to my own car. It's quite difficult to apply straight and without bubles. It will definately be a two person job.

First Drivers' Meeting

At Daikoku PA last night.

First, Tom demonstrates that he is, indeed, a powerful man. And yet, that hood (bonnet) sure is heavy...



"Wait...why is this engine sideways? Front wheel drive? Do we drive it the same way? And why is it red?"


Russ said something REALLY weird... or profound. I can't remember, I was taking the photo.


But we DID get some things done. Although Simon, you have yet to still drive the car!

Guys, we need to have one more meeting before July 15, this time for instruction by Tom on how to drive the circuit!

Spare Wheels (and tires?)

Thanks to Yahoo Auctions, scored these wheels. I believe they are made by Enkei? I know they are supposed to be very, very light, and further we don't have to worry about fitment, either.

Specs:
Wheels: DC5 Integra original equipment 16x7, PCD 114.3, Offset +50, 5 hole.
Tires: Yokohama DNA GPs, 205-45R16 (which still have some life left in them!)

Ebisu 12Hr 2008

Last Year I was invited to help out at the Ebisu 12 Hour Endurance race. I photgraphed the event and enjoyed the action and frustration the entrants went through.

When I heard the guys were thinking of racing again. This year, I decided to enter the fray as a driver.

Let's hope we go well. Less to no rain and fewer "happenings". I think

Detailing the Car

So Miguel and Russ came over to my place, and with the help of 2 Porter Cables, and Russ's intense attention to detail, got the car very, VERY clean.

The pictures tell the story.

Oh, we started at about 11pm... and we weren't done until 3am!

The Concept...

Last year, I was invited to join a 12-hour race at Ebisu circuit organized by some Japanese friends, including a professional (now retired) racing driver (Tomohiko Sunako). The car was a stripped-out, fully race-prepped Honda Civic.

Naturally, I promptly invited some of my non-Japanese car fanatic friends to join in the craziness.

The result was lots of fun, cameraderie, a broken Civic engine, and an extremely drained bank account.

I think Russ will be posting those photos/videos soon.

Immediately afterwards, my good friends Miguel and Tom and I decided that, if we ever put a similar team together, we could do so for much less money...and it would be a fun project....and left it at that...

Fast forward 8 months, and I get a call from Miguel. "Hey I've got a car we can use as a race car!!" I didn't know what he was talking about, but then he sent me here:
